Happy Labor Day Weekend! Whether you plan to sit your asana on a beach, do plenty of yoga, go for a long run, or celebrate with beverages that, ahem, dehydrate you, you’ll need a healthy way to rehydrate. Here’s a recipe I’ve recreated for an all-natural sports drink with chia seeds, along with the help of my friends at Health Warrior chia and the Prana Del Mar wellness center, where Chanel Luck and I have led yoga retreats together. It’s one of my favorite ways to cool off after a day in the sun, sweaty yoga session, or vigorous run, and the chia seeds provide added nutrients including protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and fiber.
- Ice cold pitcher of water
- Sweetener of choice (such as agave or raw sugar)
- 3 limes
- 1 heaping Tbsp. of chia
- Dash of sea salt
