Om Gal Interview: Olympian Kim Vandenberg

The start of my friendship with Kim Vandenberg went like this:

Me: Hi, my name is Rebecca.

Kim: Hi, I’m Kim.

And, then we were friends . . . Sometimes, it works that way.  We joke that we must have known each other in a past life.

In this life (last week), I informally interviewed Kim, following a swim practice in Marseille, France. The above clip kicks off a new feature on OG, in which I’ll give you an inside perspective on inspiring athletes, yogis, teachers, coaches, and more.  (Feel free to recommend a gal or guy who inspires you).

Today, I’d like you to meet Kim Vandenberg, a California native currently living and training in France. Already a bronze medalist in Bejing, as part of a freestyle relay squad, her goal is to race the 200-meter butterfly event at the London Olympics in 2012.

Good luck, Kim! Thank you for sharing your Olympic dreams, unexpected taste in pre-race music, and killer abs with us. We’re rooting for you.
