You know what they say, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” So, when it comes to lululemon making corporate announcements on April 1st, my guard goes up. You won’t trick me this time, you Canadian pranksters.
Perhaps you recall the uber tacky version of the brand’s first e-commerce site launched in April 2009. It was full of schlocky design, tacky tag lines, and hideous fonts, and, for a moment, I did think: yikes, how embarrassing. They really missed the mark… It turned out to be a well-crafted joke.
But, when lululemon released this video debuting a new line of leather products today, I couldn’t be had. Nicely done, my friends; I will not sit my asana on your whoopie cushion this year, but I tip my (straw, nay leather) hat to you.
